[M-OOM] The Ebon Hawk

By the time Revan and Kira got back to the Hawk, Ranthus having to return to duty later that night, Ellia and Kaelyn were fast asleep. It was a long day for the little ones, after all. So they were promptly tucked into their makeshift cribs and bestowed kisses and good-nights.

Revan, on the other hand, is not tired at all. Nor very talkative either. It was a long day for him too. Instead, after the girls are all settled in, he heads off without a word. He eventually ends up in the main compartment, looking over the navigational charts with a frown.

His mind is not really on planning a route home though.

"You think so?" He steps back, leaning against the nearest counter.

"Well, I tend to think anyone who doesn't try to teach me parenting lessons, try to get me to buy a pointless piece of plastic, or try and kill me and mine is nice." Kira tilts her head at him, a tiny hint of a smile on her lips.

Revan chuckles, shaking his head. "Well, I don't think he has many parenting lessons he can give you." There's no hint of bitterness there. It's just a statement of fact. "We'll have to wait and see if he plans to kill us or sell us plastic though."

"Well, he could have poisoned us and sold the girls on the black market and then buried us with plastic bits...but he didn't. And that would have been the easiest time to accomplish that.

"Blowing us up later is so cliche, though."

"But everyone loves a good explosion in the end."

"Unless it kills them." Kira points out and crosses her arms.

"Well then, they'd just be too dead to think on it much."

Kira just sighs at him, and moves into the cockpit to run her hand over the pilot's seat. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine," he insists, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "It was...awkward. That's all."

Her fingers touch his hands as her head falls back against his shoulder. "I know. It was destined to be."

"You weren't uncomfortable, were you?" he asks, murmuring the question into her hair.

"The girls kept me too occupied to be too uncomfortable." Kira sighs.

"And your hair kept them occupied," he murmurs, amused. "Not too much fussing from them tonight."

"I'm glad my hair is such a fun toy for them." Kira sighs again. WOE.

"They do seem to like it better than the toys we've bought for them."

She makes a vague noise. "I'm going to cut it all off."

"All of it? Really?"

"At least this much." She holds a hand to her chin. "It won't hurt as much if it's short!"

He makes a face. "Or you could just wear it up."

She snorts, turning in his arms, having sensed the face he made. "Would you not love me anymore if I cut my hair?"


Everyone knows he's just with her for her looks, duh.

"Of course I wouldn't love you anymore," he says, snorting. "What kind of man do you think I am? One that actually loves his wife because of her and not her looks?"

"Well, I am taking my daughters and turning them into horrible children and you'll never see them again." Kira grins up at him.

"They won't like you anymore, if you got rid of your hair," he says, kissing her nose when she grins up at him. "They'll cry for hours and hours, never giving you any peace. You'll eventually beg me to take you all back."

"So you think." Kira snorts, dropping a kiss to his cheek. "But I don't beg."
